Caring for patients with neuromuscular disorders in the COVID-19 era

COVID-19 has led to disruption – but also innovation - in the care of patients with neuromuscular disorders (NMDs), according to a plenary talk at the WMS 2020 meeting.

The talk was given by Prof Maxwell Damian of Cambridge University, UK. “Normally, this kind of lecture tends to give a rather upbeat vista of progress and the future,” he said. “This year is different. We are still in the grip of a pandemic, which has caused a million deaths (as we know so far), and has been life-changing for many – both those affected and those fighting the pandemic.”
